Iran’s minister also held talks with Syrian Information Minister Mohsen Bilal and they both stressed the importance of developing bilateral ties and enhancing Iran-Syria multimedia relationships.
As a first step, Syrian journalists have been invited to Iran and in return, Iranian journalists will travel to Syria.
Saffar Harandi also met the Syrian Prime Minister, Mohammad Naji Atri and asked him to provide more facilities for Iranian pilgrims.
In his meeting with Syria’s Tourism Minister Sadallah Agha Al-Qala, Saffar Harandi asked for an increase of services for Iranian pilgrims in different shrines located in Damascus.
Saffar Harandi and his delegation were invited to Syria to attend the Iran-Syria Cultural Week, which opened on Saturday. They visited the holy shrines and the mausoleums of the scholar Ali Shariati and Persian scientist Abu Nasr Farabi.
Several programs including live music performances, film screenings, and holding exhibitions of Persian paintings have been arranged during the cultural week.
